This year, beverage-inspired notes will take center stage, particularly those derived from tea and coffee, along with their numerous accompanying flavor combinations.
SPOTLIGHT on Coffee:
Traditional and regional coffee preparations are captivating consumers, not only in their countries of origin but also in other nations where they may be perceived as "exotic." For instance, while Irish Coffee is a quintessential Irish beverage, its flavor has gained widespread popularity globally. Similarly, the British Dirty Chai Latte and the Australian Flat White have achieved international recognition. With the increasing influence of Korean culture, South Korea's Meringue Coffee is poised for growing popularity in the years ahead. While some coffee recipes are less globally recognized, they offer valuable inspiration for innovation, such as Nepal's Mustang coffee, Vietnam's Ca Phe Trung, South Africa's Kula, or Argentina's Lagrima. Furthermore, certain regional coffees are seasonal preparations, exemplified by the American Pumpkin Spice Latte, which is particularly favored during the Halloween season.
SPOTLIGHT on Tea:
Similar to coffee, tea is presented in a multitude of forms across the globe, particularly in Asia, as exemplified by Japanese Matcha Tea, Chinese Green Tea, Southeast Asian Thai Tea, and Indian Chai Tea. In Europe, Earl Grey Tea – a blend of black tea and bergamot – also stands as a staple within the hot beverage category.
